The United Kingdom’s imminent departure from the EU entails considerable challenges for both states. “If the UK Parliament rejects the Withdrawal Agreement, the worst case scenario of a ‘no-deal’ comes awfully close,” according to Minister-president Bourgeois. Minister McKee expressed his concerns about the current degree of involvement of Scotland in the internal UK Brexit decision-making process.
On the 16th of November, the Government of Flanders approved an action plan to prepare Flanders for all Brexit scenarios, including a ‘no deal’-scenario. The action plan is strongly focused on raising awareness and informing Flemish companies about the consequences of Brexit.
