The Department of Foreign Affairs organized a presentation of the Work Program of the European Commission 2020 on 20 February at the General Representation of the Government of Flanders to the EU. Sarah Nelen (Deputy Head of Cabinet of Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans) and Jeroen Casaer (Deputy Head of Unit of the Unit responsible for the Work Program within the Secretariat-General) explained what the European Commission has in store for us in 2020. The event was aimed at the members of the Presidents' College of the Government of Flanders, the heads of the Flemish Government departments and agencies, the members of the Strategic Body for International Affairs, Flemish officials involved in European policy and the EU and / or international policy advisers of the cabinets. The presentation is part of the process whereby the Flemish Government will determine its priorities and initial positions with regard to the EU for the coming year. It was the first time that the Flemish government organized such a presentation of the Work Program Committee. The interest turned out to be huge: the room was fully booked in a short time.
