On 17 October, the European Commission published the annual progress of Member States on a number of educational objectives agreed in the EU2020 strategy. Belgium and Flanders score well. The main objectives are met. Early school leaving and the share of higher educated people are central to the report. Flanders shows good results with 7.2% of school-leavers and 46.5% of people with 30 to 34-year-olds, respectively. Flemish Minister of Education Hilde Crevits is satisfied and points to the reforms that are coming up to prepare Flemish education for the future so that every young person receives the best possible education.
